Description
This table required 5 men to carry it into position. The magnificent single slab top was retrieved from a farm in Corryong. The tree had been struck by lightning many years earlier and the farmer decided to clear to paddock it had been resting in for so many years.
The base of the table has been crafted using reclaimed sections of Red Gum timber salvaged from a demolished bridge. The base also features Ancient Red Gum timber inlay retrieved from 20 metres below the grounds surface in a dry riverbed. It is estimated to be over 7 thousand years old. The table top features a double track, hand inlayed detail using the same historical timber.
