Both of these heat the room, but they do it in different ways. Radiant heaters transfer their heat directly to people and objects. This makes them the best choice for rooms where people are going to be within the line of sight of the heater. Or if people aren’t going to be spending a lot of time in the room, spending energy heating the whole room is unnecessary. As radiant heaters do not blow air, people with dust allergies may also benefit.
Convection heaters rely on circulation to heat the room. Air is warmed in the heater and returned to the room to keep the entire room warm for an extended period of time.
Convection heaters are recommended when installation is tight. Because they are built with an outer convection chamber, the outside of the heater does not become as hot. This means they are able to be utilised in areas where other heaters would be a fire hazard. Of course, it is important to follow the necessary clearances from combustible materials, as stated in the appliance's instruction manual.
