My partner and I have the perfect relationship when it comes to the kitchen.
I love to cook. He prefers to clean.
So, when it came to selecting the (or should I say his!) dishwasher for our new kitchen, I really embraced the sous chef role.
He’s a guy. He likes technical jargon and specs. I’m a girl. I like the shape and colour. So, before long he was online researching possible options and downloading technical manuals. I, on the other hand, would spend my Saturday mornings visiting the stockists show rooms.
We both narrowed our choice down to two options each and, funnily enough, the Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer™ was on both our lists.
Naturally, I was impressed with the EZKleen Stainless Steel finish – any cleaning product with the word “EZ” sounds good to me.
Also, I was taken with the design. Yes, it looks like a dishwasher but it’s streamlined and the rectangular square edged handles would complement our new kitchen door ware.
Also, the ergonomic design that allowed for ease of opening, sounded perfect to me. I was really keen to purchase something that was EnergyStar approved.
I was conscious I didn’t want a product that used copious amounts of water in one cycle. The fact that this had a half load wash option was very appealing.
Lastly, I liked the idea of having the ability to fit x7 place settings in the wash – as our dinner parties are usually for x6 people. Tick. Tick. Tick.
My partner was drawn to the two different size drawers, allowing flexibility of use. He liked the fact that there were nine wash programs from heavy to economical right through to delicate and fast.
Also, he knew the dimensions (H 820mm – 880mm x W 599mm x D 571mm) would fit our cavity well. Quietly, I think he was also taken with the SmartDrive™ Technology, what guy wouldn’t be!
12 months on and we are thrilled with the Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer™ purchase. Many a dinner party has been enjoyed and easily cleaned up – dinner plates, glassware and cutlery in the top drawer, cooking utensils, pots and pans in the bottom.
Simple to use flow through detergent dispenser and a rinse aid indicator light to tell me when it needs a top up – even the chef is cleaning up after herself these days!
