The Carlton Tree House is a striking split-level home that stands proudly (but harmoniously) within its surrounding environment on a leafy green street of Carlton, Victoria.
Affectionately coined the ‘’Carlton Tree House’’ which refers to the beautiful tree inspired design reflected on the façade of the home. The tree motif was established alongside the client and the architect’s brief to create a design that was unique but in keeping with the area and style of Carlton homes, and also to link back through the property both internally and externally. The services of Grafico Wall Coverings were engaged to accomplish this challenge.
Using new, innovative technology, the façade of the house was treated with a beautiful vinyl cut graphic designed and made in-house using cutting-edge digital print technology. The design sought to soften and provide contrast to the building’s grey aluminium composite panel cladding.
The overall external form of the property is engaging from all sides - front, side and the rear. The feature was repeated at the side of the home but with a water-mark effect to create a harmonious flow of finishes and to enable the side of the house to have its own identity.
Moving to the rear of the property the grey walls are punctuated by a splash of green to create a sense of repose. Using a custom print outdoor wall paper that depicts a flourish of green leaves to bring vibrancy and add life to an otherwise dull lane way.
Stepping inside the home and taking a tour, Grafico Mosaico Digitale designed all of the bespoke wall coverings for the bathroom walls, internal glass doors, the internal courtyard walls and even produced some custom canvas artworks that create unique shout outs of interest.
The stunning custom bathroom tiles were tiles produced exclusively for the client using technology that combines resin with digital print. This tiling process allows the customer to deconstruct any digital image they choose and print it into resin tiles. The ability to customise is not the only advantage these tiles have over ceramic; they are also only 2mm thick, making them light-weight and easy to install.
Available exclusively through Grafico Mosaico Digitale, the tiles are designed in Melbourne and produced in Puglia, Italy. Using the latest printing technology that allows a client to potentially decorate whole areas of their home with beautiful customised imagery in an easy to install in an efficient way. Its application is limited only by ones imagination and can be used to create a truly bespoke one-of-a-kind property!
