Spring Fling Sling Cocktail

It’s Spring Carnival time! It’s that wonderful social occasion of the season that the whole nation gets excited about.

The city of Melbourne becomes alive and there’s such a great buzz about town in the weeks leading up to the main race day. It’s the perfect excuse to catch up with friends, get dressed up and host a beautiful lunch time or sunset soiree'.

If you are planning putting on party and are looking for a refreshing and delicious signature cocktail look no further. We have an absolutely winning beverage which was recommended to us by Matt Jones, Founder & Director of Four Pillars Gin.

With a name that is just so fitting for a Spring racing celebration, we would like to introduce the The Spring Sling Fling! It's fresh, its fruity, its fun and it's guaranteed to be a bit hit during the warmer months.

Here’s what you’re going to need to make this delightful beverage.


Spring Fling Sling Shopping List

  • Cucumber slice - cut 1cm thick
  • Mint leaves x 5
  • Sugar syrup 15 ml or or 1 tsp caster sugar
  • Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin 45 ml
  • Apple juice 60 ml
  • Lemon juice 15 ml
  • To serve: long cucumber slices & edible flowers


The Prep Work

Combine cucumber, mint and sugar in a cocktail shaker or bar glass. Crush using muddler or wooden spoon Add gin and juices, half fill with ice, shake well and pour through a fine strainer into a tall glass of ice.

Garnish with cucumber slices, edible flowers and serve.
