So this is the winter that you’ve decided to put in a gas fire – lucky you’ve waited because it’s almost here! The Mezzo from Heat & Glo Fireplaces hits the Australian market this month boasting the most realistic flame patterns, LED lighting and heat zone technology. It’s elegant, clean, discreet and luxurious. We caught up with Mark and Ron from Jetmaster Victoria to find out all about their new flagship model.
Modern Fireplace Design
“Over the past few years we’ve had lots of customers asking for a gas fire that has both great aesthetics and is a really efficient heating unit. People are looking for that long linear shape with a minimal & clean fascia, but they don’t just want a decorative fire. They are looking for a unit that can really heat. We took this feedback to the US and together with their R&D team we came up with a design brief, and now we are really excited because the product is finally ready for release in Australia. This new Mezzo range is the first where the customer doesn't have to trade off looks over heating performance.”
Wall Mount Fireplace
Available in 3 sizes (1000mm, 1300mm in either single and double sided and the impressive 1600mm), the Mezzo can be customized with interior options to enhance your home’s décor and your own personal style. As Mark explains, “Previously the widest fire we could offer in a landscape model was 1000mm, and now we can go up to 1600mm wide. This is just perfect for large open plan areas.”
The trim too has completely been redesigned – down from a minimum 100mm previously to a very discreet 25mm.
The overall result is a fire just floating in your wall.
Gas Fireplace for Heat
Flames, lights, reflection and warmth combine to stimulate your senses. But as we all know good looks aren’t everything. If you are installing a gas log fire it’s because you want to keep warm, and that’s where the Mezzo really delivers.
The Mezzo from Heat & Glo Fireplaces is a balanced flue gas fire. It has a really good heating capacity - the smallest unit can easily heat a space of 5 to 6 squares. Being a balanced flue unit it means the flue can terminate either vertically or horizontally.
The Mezzo radiates heat from the front of the unit, and the unit comes standard with another great feature – a heat transfer kit. What is a heat transfer kit? Very simply it takes some of the heat generated by your gas log fire and transfers it to another part of your home. So if you have a really large open plan area you can use a heat zone from your Mezzo to spread the warmth. Or you could place a vent into another room to supplement other heating sources. You also have the option to add a second heat transfer kit to the unit, making this unit the ideal choice for heating larger areas.
Wide Gas Fire
It’s obvious that a lot of thought has gone into the design of the Mezzo. Yes it boasts great styling, and efficient heating capacity, but it also has several other features that really set it apart. Flames float across an illuminated bed of crushed glass combined with black high gloss interior and clear LED lighting adding depth and intensity to the fire.
