Alisa & Lysandra, Home Office Style

Whether you have a fully-fledged business that you run from home, or you just dip into work here and there on your laptop, it’s great to have a space dedicated to ‘office’ work.

In this weeks edition of House of Home - The Design Series, Alisa & Lysandra (of A&L Collections and The Block fame) help us understand the importance of separating even the smallest space in your home to create an office space which not only looks amazing, but puts back some ‘balance’ into the work, life balance equation.

Alisa & Lysandra plant the seed for a functional but really aesthetically pleasing office environment – the kind of space that conjures thoughts of orderliness, calm, efficiency. Some interior design tricks they suggest includes using a mirror to facilitate the illusion of having a larger space – very important for those small interior spaces you reside in to provide some stimulation.

The twins show us that although work and play should be kept separate, it doesn’t mean you can’t have fun in your work space. We love that they’ve worked with the usual suspects like a desk, comfortable chair and quality lighting, but they’ve also introduced the pleasure factor through artwork and plants.

As Mothers themselves, the importance of separating the work with the play goes beyond interior design and styling to a happy household. Don’t forget - A little space can be beautiful and effective – don’t give up on it – embrace it.
