Highlights from Australia's Top Design Show - DENFAIR 2016

June 2nd – 6th marked the design occasion of the year for Australian designers and design savvy home makers.

Hosted in Melbourne at the Convention Centre in South Wharf, discerning designers and design aficionados gathered from overseas and Australia wide to attend what has become the most achingly beautiful interiors event on the design calendar.

Denfair is a beautifully curated and presented show, full of inspirational lighting, furniture, homewares, and soft furnishings that combine quality craftsmanship and the very best local and international design from both established and emerging designers.

With an exhibitor list second-to-none, we have hand-picked four stand-out companies to share with you. Here’s a quick round up of some of the stunning products that caught our eye, and have remained in our hearts.

And don’t worry if you missed it – you can find these beautifully designed pieces for your home on the House of Home website. Enjoy!

Felix Furniture DENFAIR

Felix Furniture

Sunbury, a suburb on the outskirts of Melbourne is home to Felix Furniture, an emerging furniture maker that uses plywood but crafts it into beautiful, refined pieces of furniture. We love the range, its styling and design just perfect for contemporary Australian homes.

Hunt Furniture 1

Hunt Furniture

Like so many of his fellow exhibitors at DenFair, Max Hunt’s business was created from a desire to create design products that everyday Australians can afford.

The result is an impressive range of stools and coffee tables that would work well in a Scandinavian style interior or a more refined home. All of the stools and tabletops are solid Tasmanian or American oak.

Savage Design DENFAIR 2016

Savage Design

Savage Design make interesting, quirky and stylish homewares and furniture out of metal, in particular brass. They craft solid brass in to sculptural wall hooks, canisters, and lighting. Our favourites though would make a perfect gift for a Sydneysider – a set of 6 placemats accurately laser cut of represent the street grid of inner Sydney.

Oblica ErgoFocus

With winter upon us, Oblica has to be one of our favourite showrooms to visit. With a roaring log fire, in the sleekest of Scandinavian designed fireplaces, this showroom makes you want to install a chimney just so you can have an amazing firewood display to match!
