Like everyone, Bec & George are experiencing a few dramas with their project. But the bits that are completed – they are amazing.
Last night we got to see the master bedroom and ensuite – these are both beautiful restful spaces, just perfect for relaxing, resting and recharging.
So let’s work through the master bedroom and breakdown how Bec created that look.
First up, the colour palette – moody blues indeed! The walls are painted Dulux Companion which really sets the tone. This deep colour works particularly well because the room is flooded with light from the floor to ceiling windows taking in the view.
From there Bec used the warmth of timber in the bed and side tables, and then layered lots of different shades of blue onto the bed.
Soft linen sheets in Mondo Seafoam are the base onto which a navy and pale blue coverlet is layered over a natural coloured linen doona cover. The cushions are then layered shades of blue.
What really makes this all work though is the variety of textures that Bec has chosen for all of the various elements. The velvet of the round cushion, the quilting of the navy cushion, the thick knit of the pale blue pillows, all balancing with the stitching and pom poms of the coverlet.
Bec’s choice of artwork and accessories works perfectly in the space. The stormy print, is juxtaposed with the warmth of the space. While the brass accents complement the blue palette perfectly. Finishing touches like the beautiful warmth of both the reindeer hide on the bed and the handmade Woollen Collective rug on the occasional chair make this a really inviting space to unwind and rest in.
The ensuite is a gorgeous space - indulgent, elegant and practical at the same time. Bec has used accessories in this space that continue the timber and blue accents into this space.
